Description
This moderately challenging piece was composed in 2020 and premiered by Cody Hunter at the 2021 Virtual Symposium of the IDRS. The composition references the tragic bushfires that ravaged parts of Australia in 2018-19. The music is pitch-centric, with somewhat pointillistic outer sections framing a sparse and lonely middle. The top-most pitch is C5, and extended techniques are limited to a few timbral trills and air sounds.
