This piece was commissioned by Eric Van der Veer Varner and premiered by him at the 2018 IDRS Conference in Granada, Spain. According to the composer, Compostela offers musical vignettes of the popular pilgrimage along Spain’s famed Camino Francés. The seven connected sections are pitch-centric, moderately challenging, and very motivic.
