Description
This piece was composed in 2020 for Suzanne Nelson, as part of the Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive’s 2020 New Music Project, and is an optimistic anticipatory response of sorts to the COVID-19 pandemic as humankind emerges from it. The music is pitch-centric, predominantly lyrical, and moderately easy, although the full range is used up to an isolated D5 at the end. Some extended techniques are called for: pitch-bending, glissandi, flutter-tonguing and a multiphonic fingering.
