Description
This evocative piece was composed in 1996, and premiered by Charles Shapera at the University of Chicago. The music is freely atonal, with an emphasis on the lyrical capabilities of the bassoon, albeit with considerable rhythmic complexities, over the full range to Eb5. That said, the third section of this ABCA structured piece is quite pointillistic and challenging. Vibrato manipulations are required.
