Description

Blur was composed in 2006-7 for Scott Pool. It is a single movementIt work with several sections that result in a rondo-like structure.  The range extends only to Bb4, but the music is very challenging, requiring considerable dexterity and fluency with extended techniques, including timbre changes, timbral trills, key clicks and slaps, multiphonics, and pitch bending. The key clicks, in particular, are very important in this piece as they gradually gain prominence as the pitch material is reduced. See the reference below for a more detailed description of the music.
