Description
This piece was commissioned by the IDRS and premiered by Kunakorn Teekakul at the 2023 annual conference in Mahidol, Thailand. According to the composer’s program notes, the music was inspired by the travels of three African Wild Dogs. It is pitch-centric and features alternating sparse lyrical sections and more active, often chromatic, passages. The music is moderately challenging, ascends only to C4 and includes a few extended techniques: pitch bending and multiphonics.
