Description
This avant-garde piece, inspired by the life and works of Sylvia Plath, was commissioned by Eden Treado and composed in 2021. Extended techniques are numerous, including multiphonics (with suggested fingerings), vibrato manipulations, tongue-slaps, glissandi, pitch bending and timbral trills. The music is moderately challenging, if only for the extended techniques involved, and ascends to D5.
