Mason: Onion Breath.

This work was composed in 2010 in “Homage to Colin Stetson,” and was premiered by the composer. It was revised in 2016. The musical language is avant-garde, and features very little traditional notation or performance practice. Extended techniques include harmonics, some with glissandi, circular breathing, multiphonics, timbral manipulations, undertones, and improvisation. The music is moderately easy, ascending only to B4, and includes very clear instructions for the extended techniques.
