This piece was commissioned by Laurence Perkins and composed in 2001. The atonal music takes its inspiration from a poem by Wordsworth, and relies heavily on the lyrical capabilities of the instrument. That said, it is a challenging piece. It is a beautifully expressive piece that deserves to be better known. The top-most pitch is D5.
