Description
Subtitled “Two Testing Pieces for Ageing Bassoonists,” this is an amusing work in a somewhat popular style. The first movement features seventh chord arpeggios in a somewhat improvisatory character, and the second is a rock etude. The music ascends to C5 and the second movement features some asymmetrical meter changes, but otherwise is only moderately challenging.
