Description
Composed in Stockholm 2014, this piece is typical of this composer; conservatively neoclassical and pitch-centric, and employing the full range up to Bb4. The opening is quite dramatic, and the second movement centers in D-minor, apparently Levitt’s favorite for lyrical bassoon writing. The music is moderately challenging.
