Description
This piece was commissioned by Svenska RiksKonserter, composed in 2002 and dedicated to Henrik Blixt. It was premiered on May 25, 2003 at Saltsjöbaden, Grünewaldvillan, Norway. This is a very challenging and marginally pitch-centric avant-garde piece that includes among its extended techniques multiphonics (fingerings not provided), timbral trills, glissandi, flutter-tonguing, and harmonics. The range extends from Ab1 (with an “ossia” limited to Bb1) all the way up to F5.
