Composed in 1995 for Vaclav Vonasek, this eclectic piece features a mixture of atonal and pitch-centric materials. Extremely challenging virtuosic sections, often including tremolos, are interspersed with lyrical material over the full range up to Eb5. No other extended techniques are employed.
