Description

This atonal composition was dedicated to Hans Lemke and dates from 1974. It is very motivic, but also quite melodious as these motivic interval cells are expanded. The music is rhythmically active and technically challenging, and while the upper register is not used extensively, it does ascend to Eb5. While the title might suggest polyphony or registral differentiation, the music is monophonic throughout.
