This piece was composed in 1981 for Gabor Janota. The material is pitch- centric and features extensive use of whole-tone scales up to Cb5. A whirlwind-like scherzando is framed by lyrical sections; the whirlwind then returns as a coda. The music is challenging, but well worth the effort.
