Description
Composed in 1922, this is the earliest and best known of all contra solos. The music is pitch-centric, and makes use of the famous BACH motive. Although the range is limited, from written C2 to F4, this is a challenging piece. There is also an earlier edition, edited by William Waterhouse and published by June Emerson.
