Description
This very challenging piece was composed in 2019-2020 and dedicated “to Olivia, who is equally responsible for this music.” It was first performed by Olivia Palmer-Baker on August 27, 2020. The piece requires impeccable control of extended techniques; including microtones, timbral trills, glissandi, harmonic, and multiphonics. Performance instructions and fingerings are based on Pascal Gallois’ book, The Technique of Bassoon Playing. There is also a version with electronics.
