Description
This piece was commissioned for the XI International Competition of the Moscow Conservatory for Winds and Percussion in 2020. It is a moderately challenging pitch-centric work inspired by the opening of Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps that spans the full range up to D5, featuring interplay between a lyrical high voice and a more pointillistic low voice. Extended techniques include flutter tonguing and singing while playing.
