Description
This piece was initially composed at the request of Vincent Ellin in 1972, and premiered by him in Boston in April of that year. It was later revised and dedicated to the memory of Alan Stout, and performed in Basel on February 14, 2018. The music is atonal and rhapsodic, and mostly rather angular. The moderately challenging score extends up to C5 and calls for some extended techniques; flutter-tonguing, some pitch-bending, some tremolos, and a few multiphonics.
