This moderately challenging lyrical atonal piece spans the full range up to Eb5, and includes quarter-tones and pitch bending. It was inspired by a painting, “L’ecume des Jours” (Froth of Days), by François Pélardy. The painting was itself inspired by a novel by Boris Vian.
