Description
This is a moderately easy pitch-centric piece that was completed in 2018, although the sketches date from 2002-2004. The style is neo-Baroque, with very clear Bach influences in the Bourrée. The outer movements are very reminiscent of Shostakovich. The full range is used up to Cb5, although the upper register is not used extensively. Also worth noting is his “20 Studies on Essential Orchestral Excerpts” method, including studies on most of the most famous and/or challenging excerpts.
