Description
This piece was composed in 1976. The music is marginally pitch-centric, and moderately challenging, although covering the full range up to D5. Extended techniques are required, including vibrato manipulations, quarter-tones, timbre changes, multiphonics, flutter-tonguing, and harmonics. The music is very colorful and evocative, and having been written by a bassoonist, the extended techniques are very sensible and well integrated into the rest of the piece.
