Description
These pieces were composed in Hertfordshire, England in 1979. Each is prefaced by a date, and an extract from the Rev. Francis Kilvert’s journal describing some aspect of the English countryside. These are to be read prior to performance. The music is atonal and primarily lyrical, although there are also challenging technical requirements up to E5. The music is very evocative and well worth the preparation time.
