Description
This piece is contained in a collection of Works by Soviet Composers for Solo Bassoon, Installment I, compiled by Valery Popov. It was composed in 1981 and dedicated to Popov. The music is essentially atonal, but there are occasional tonal inflections. The music is very motivic and is technically challenging, and requires agile facility up to E5. The final movement is a very taxing toccata-like showpiece, followed by a gentle coda.
