This piece was composed in 1994 "for Chris" (Ulffers). The music is atonal, with an emphasis on the expressive capabilities of the bassoon, although there are moments of technical brilliance. The top-most pitch is Bb4. This is a beautiful moderately challenging piece that deserves to be better known.
