This avant-garde atonal piece includes several extended techniques: timbre changes, glissandi, quarter-tones, multiphonics, and flutter-tonguing. It is very challenging, and spends considerable time in the upper register, up to E5. Composed in 1989, this piece was included in the annual Paris Conservatory Concours of 2002.
