Description
This piece was composed for Rainer Luft in 1980, and is included in both Music and Playing Techniques of the 20th Century and Zeitgenössische Musik für Fagott solo, both edited by Dieter Hähnchen, The three atonal unlabeled movements are motivic and technically challenging, but emphasize lyricism over angularity, in contrast to most of the other works in this collection. The full range up to Eb5 is employed, although the extreme upper register is used very sparingly.
