Description
This piece was composed in 2001 and premiered by Annika Fredriksson in Malmö on October 9 of that year. The music is angular and primarily atonal, with extensive use of the high register, especially many occurrences of D5. The piece consciously references other works for bassoon, most notably the sonatas by Saint-Säens and Poulenc, and Interférences I by Boutry. It is challenging, primarily because of the high tessitura.
