Description
This moderately challenging piece was composed for Jean Owen in 1988 and emphasizes the lyric nature of the bassoon over the full range to D4. The “Caprice” sounds characteristically improvisatory while using a twelve-tone row. The “Scotch Song” is more pitch centric, and is a set of variations.
