Description
This atonal piece was composed in 2008 for Imani Mosley, and premiered in December of that year. Lyrical outer movements frame a challenging passacaglia based on an 11-note ground bass, organized as a serial row with no pitch repetition. However, each reiteration of the ground bass “row” begins on a different pitch. The variations are quite busy and predominantly disjunct over the full range up to D5.
