Description
Composed in 1961 for Maurice Pachman, this is a challenging piece that ascends to D4 and requires an extremely facile triple tongue in the final movement. The music is pitch-centric and is based on small intervallic cells. All three movements feature numerous meter changes and much rhythmic variety, typical of the mid 20th century.
