Description
Composed in 1968, the nine brief movements are pitch centric, and based on small cells. Intervals of m3 and m2 are prominent components of the cells, and serve a unifying purpose throughout this challenging, but appealing composition. The music is essentially a dialogue between lyrical movements and others with very rapid ascending scalar or arpeggiated figures, some ascending to D5.
